Term 3 week 9

Can your child please wear PE gear to school tomorrow- Tuesday. We have our Jump rope afternoon from 12:40-1:40.

Please bring your  collection envelope back by this Friday 19th. It came home with a sponsorship booklet. The money raised goes to the Heart Foundation and a percentage back to our school.

Parent help will be required on the day so if you are able to assist that would be appreciated. If you child has a skipping rope please bring it to school so that we can have enough for everyone.

Our normal PE day is still on Thursday too. We are presenting the Gospel at Mass this Thursday 9:00. We would love to have you there.

School Garden Club
Our new school garden came to life this afternoon with the support of the Community Garden Coordinators, helpers and students. Thanks to our whanau for donations of cuttings. The children planted potatoes, lettuces, onions, strawberries, spinach, broccoli and cauliflower. A tray of vegetables were also donated to us from from Mitre 10. Our garden club will take place every Thursday afternoon from 2-3 pm. We still need some more parent helpers. Please let us know if you would like to join the gardening team and help our children reap the rewards.
Thank-you Kawakawa! I was away today on a course and arrived back to the classroom to find some beatiful flowers you created with writing all about me. Thank-you, you brightened up my day with all the flowers and the lovely compliments! You are AMAZING!
Miss Jackson :)

Spring nature walk

On Tuesday we went on a Spring walk around the playground for our Writing lesson. We took our 'jottings' book and made notes of our observations. We wrote down what we could see, hear, feel and smell around us. We will be using our notes to do some writing on Spring.

Religious Education (RE)

Our topic in RE at the moment is SACRAMENT. We are learning about Holy times, places and objects. They are holy because they remind us of God. People can discover God and God’s holiness in the world, which is God’s gift to people to enjoy and care for. We are also learning about ways of doing things (rituals) everyday and in the church.

We created posters of objects and places that are Holy to us. We have been thinking about holy times with our families. We created flowers with God's creations on them which we enjoy and care for.

Our Writing

We wrote stories about what we thought was at the end of the rainbow. What would you like there to be at the end of the rainbow?
Happy Father's Day! I hope all of the Father's, uncles and Grandad's had a lovely day! Come in and read our super descriptions!

Certificates Term 3 week 7

Well done Stephanie-Mae for excellent work in your Writing, recording the sounds you can hear. Super team work in PE Ruby. You are both stars!

A couple of Numeracy and Literacy snaps, proud children wanting to share their work!

Our Literacy wall that goes right across the wall in Kawakawa and Kauri. The students now have their own peg to clip their work on for the week before they file it in their Literacy folders. They are working so hard on their book reviews, character writing description pages, poems, word searches and word endings!
